The First Time in A Long TIme: A Classic Decline

Why did i even bother setting up a blog site if i don't post anything?

I'll get back to you on that... Meanwhile, I'm going for an escapade, first time in a long time.. I'm also attempting a post.. First time in a long time...

Ever since I've had twitter, it always seemed easier posting random thoughts.. but now I plan on going for more than 240 characters... am I exceeding it already? Will this go out to the people who care enough to read a very long "shoutout"? maybe not... ayy.. the wonders of technolgy.

My punctuation, spelling and phrasing are all off. Also my vocabulary has gone stale since i started a life in the world of tech and corporations, dress up, dress down, coaching, huddles, unauthorized absences, VGH and work mode. I appreciate the spelling checker these days... it reminds me that right clicks are gateways to a quick fix of mental decline. It reminds me that technology is a short cut to creating a genius of the dumb - how guitar heroes make you look like professional rockers, that the electric piano makes a Mozart out of the lowest form of musician and that the chords D-A-G-A with or with the capo on the electric/acoustic guitar will make you a superstar in the world of pop as well as rock and roll (since when have they become one and the same?) Since when has genre listings grown so long despite the fact that everything falls under pop - alternative pop, pop/rock, punk/pop/rock, techno - the modified, synthesized version of pop.

Since when did all this cynic mayhem start evolving in my one track cynic and idle mind? Since I've become a part of it. The pop culture - once known as the world of glitz and glamor and pleasure and fame and wealth and more importantly a world where everyone is heard and everyone had a voice, his original voice, and identity and illegibility to uniqueness and admiration- where the Beatles ruled and still had something to say - and now not more the world of the youth - with dyed hair, leather wristbands, and suburban houses and pageant oriented teens who happen to encounter the word rock but the world of the music per se.

The world of the arts has turned easy, accepted, noted and wanted... but the authenticity, the "pemanentability", it's quest for the perfection to capture essence of all emotion and human tendencies and realities has not faltered once... and poseurs will never prevail because within the arts, be it in music, be it in words, be it in image, will always reveal truth - whether the truth is that it is fake, or genuinely sincere. That, in it self, establishes art's authenticity, it's ability to remain significant and classic - No technology will ever correct that for me, for there lies the truth within the error and imperfection of man.

So despite my erroneous quest to express... and my innumerable right-clicks to seek perfection and correction, I am not hopeless, this is still me, this is still what i have to say - the first time in a very long time.

so long, good night.
